A Beautiful Overnight Sail

A great overnight trip to La Digue and return with one guest Mr Tex Albert. Arrived at La Digue jetty with the sun setting and dined on deck under a starry night. Awoke with the sun and breakfasted on deck with plenty of fruit and a cooked breakfast of bacon, sausages and eggs.

Enjoyed a visit to Union Estate Farm. Going through the extensive Vanilla plantation, we came across the last wooden boat building and repair yard left on La Digue. Great to see real craftsman at work on a traditional wooden schooner.

A walk to Anse Source D’Argent – voted 4th best beach in the world by CNN for 2016 was stunning.

The sail back to Mahe was steady in 10 to 12 knots of SE wind and a constant SE swell made for a pleasant journey back to Mahe. A brief glimpse of Dolphins brought a bit of excitement, while the one fish we caught broke the line!
